Emotional Intelligence and Charisma – The Superlative Combination!!

Emotional Intelligence simply means the ability to identify and manage your own emotions and the emotions of others. Today to be successful it is very important that we understand and react appropriately to the signals of others, only then can we prosper personally and professionally. A person with high EI (emotional intelligence) can understand other people, what motivates them and how to work co-operatively with them.

Charisma or personal charisma is the possession of highly developed emotional and social communication skills. Charismatic individuals are brilliant and effective communicators who communicate emotions very well – particularly positive emotions.

Both EI and charisma go hand in hand to get the best out of you in any sphere of life. Let’s discover the various elements of EI and Charisma – in conversation with Narad Muni and Lord Krishna😊!!

Sounds interesting is in it! Lord Krishna the epitome of Charisma and EI!!

Narad Muni: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna…!

Lord Krishna: What’s on your mind Dev Rishi. Speak out.

Narad Muni: Oh, Lord of the whole universe – you know all of it, still you want me to speak.

Lord Krishna: yes, I know everything but I want you to express yourself!

Narad Muni: Your intention is always to help others discover themselves. Lord – have you heard of these new terms Emotional Intelligence and Charisma. There is a furore about it on planet Earth and there are hundreds of books written on these qualities. Please can you throw some light on this.

Lord Krishna: Yes, people have a knack of creating hysteria on qualities that existed from time immemorial. All our ancient scriptures emphasized on emotional intelligence and charisma. All our great kings and rulers were great examples of these qualities. But its only now that everyone is taking it so seriously as it helps to progress professionally 😊!

EI is essentially self-awareness or emotional awareness and self-confidence. Meaning the individual is aware of his emotions and confident enough to express it positively. High EI people can regulate their emotions very well. They have a good level of self-control and adaptability. This kind of people are trustworthy, conscientious and innovative beings.

They are self-motivated, have an achievement drive, committed towards their goal, are initiative takers and totally optimistic people. Very empathetic, who understand others feelings and emotions, they develop and understand others as well as leverage diversity. These people are very good with negotiation in today’s global economy.

The best example of an Emotional Intelligence kind of environment is Mount Kailash the abode of Lord Shiva. It’s interesting how Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with all their children live harmoniously. Let’s see it more deeply. Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati are completely aware of the emotional differences or choices of their children for example Ganesh rides a mouse, Karthikey rides a peacock, Laxmi rides an owl and Saraswati a swan. Lord Shiva rides on Nandi (male cow) with a snake around his neck and Maa Parvati rides a lion. This is the most unlikely of environments to co-exists but that’s the challenge that is overcome so beautifully with understanding each other’s emotions and feelings, respecting different choices, creating awareness that everyone can co-exist. Compatibility at its very best. Everyone is motivated, optimistic, empathetic, confident and committed towards one goal. If every household strives to be Mount Kailash – then I believe every child will inevitably become an emotionally intelligent kid 😊!

Narad Muni: Prabhu – exemplary analogy! You are great!! Your example throws light on how kids can be raised to be competitive in today’s fast paced world.

Now are Charismatic people any different. I can say you are the most charismatic of all the Lords.!!

Lord Krishna: Like I said charismatic people are great speakers. Their emotional expressiveness is very high, meaning they accurately and spontaneously convey emotional messages through nonverbal communication especially positive emotions. They are high on emotional sensitivity that is- in decoding others emotions very well ..they can feel your pain!

Charismatic people also regulate their emotions very well, mask different emotions …you can say they are good emotional actors! These people walk into a room and “lit up the room”, they can talk fluidly on any topic, very articulate and fluent in their area of expertise. They are socially sensible and behave appropriate as per the situation demands. Be it any situation they have the confidence to manage it well.

Now these qualities of EI and charisma resides in good people and not so good people. Not to worry I handle the not so good people in my style when the right time comes!!:)

And yes thank you for acknowledging me as the most charismatic Lord but if you ask me the “the most Charismatic person I know of is Radha” – she lit up my entire soul and my existence, the Vrindavan gardens lit up with her presence in the night, the trees swayed more and my flute sounded sweeter in Radha’s presence.!!

Narad Muni: My Lord – you are getting emotional…!!

Lord Krishna: 😊…yes …!!

Let’s conclude then. Emotional Intelligence and Charisma go hand in hand and both skills can be acquired. But the most important quality is being a good human being. Once you seek to be a good person everything else falls into place.

Hello Everyone,

This was a light-hearted technique to cover this interesting topic. I have dealt it in my own simple and innovative way. Hope this was enjoyable. Leaving you with a nice quote on this topic:

“People whose eyes shine are happy to be alive. They see life and its glory even when things aren’t easy. And because they see life, even through all the problems and obstacles, their eyes shine.” ― Jelena Pantić, Journey to the Center of the Heart.

Keep smiling -😊 Molly!!
