Hello Everyone,
Wishing all lots of sunshine and joy, loads of positivity to brush away any negativity!!
Its been a couple of months, I have not been able to connect. But here I am now with my new poem and stories to make you smile!!
I have tried in my own small way to talk about – what is the meaning of being calm and peaceful – my perception – I have taken the River as a metaphor. Hope you like it!!
=========================================================================
I learn from the river how to flow,
Embrace all the twist and turns in life and never show,
All the sadness and hurt in the air you blow,
I learn from the river how to flow!
Only then you – can be calm in mind,
And a calm mind makes the peaceful heart shine,
Keep yourself mindful of the present moment and you’ll be fine,
Surrender to the universe and its timings and you will know –
Like a river you will learn to flow!
The river glitters and giggles through the meandering lanes,
Let’s giggle like the river when life throws to us – our pains,
The calmness you feel when you learn to embrace your storm,
It’s the victory dance feeling inside, and your heart gets warm,
This is how you get to know – learn from the river how to flow!
Peace and calmness are two sides of the same coin,
Peace is more about your soul and calm is more your mind,
Both need to eternally intertwine and flow together as you grow,
Like a river you will learn to flow!
Our life is like the river – one day will join the sea,
We came with nothing, will go with nothing, that’s how it’s going to be,
So even if you have an ounce of arrogance, let it go,
Then finally you will learn, from the river how to flow!!

Pearls of Wisdom – 1) Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa says in one of his stories that to attain a peaceful soul and calm mind we need to strike a balance in our behaviour. We should not be very cruel like the snake that bites and hurts people nor should we be too kind, letting everyone throw stones at you and put you down. The standing alert hood of the snake is enough to scare negative and harsh people. So we should first love and respect ourselves and that will reflect back from others as well. Your behaviour is of utmost importance, it reflects how your life is going to be till the end. You reap only what you sow!!
2) We should learn to completely surrender to the Almighty – be it any situation good or bad. God rescues us always. This reminds me of a story about a Mother Deer. Once a Mother Deer was trapped between a tiger and hunter, it knew that death is nearby. However in that last moment of truth, it lay down in the ground to give birth – the last option it had. And with complete faith that help will come. Suddenly a miracle happens. It started raining heavily with lightening and thunder – which distracted the hunter, the arrow that he targeted for the deer actually went and hit the approaching tiger. And the lightening struck the hunter. Both the predators were killed. The baby and the Mother Deer were saved. Similary in this world we will come across lots of different kind of people, some are good and some have bad behavioural problems. Learn to keep away from the people who drain you mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
3) Do charity and good deeds. Go help the needy and poor without getting caught. Plant more trees. Save animals. Be gentle on helpless elderly people. Love all children. Don’t discrminate. Be compassionate. Control your tongue. Chant mantras and hymns of God. Calmness, Peace and Prosperity will follow you.
4) Finally be like the ocean – absorb everything, learn your lessons but don’t get bitter from inside. A bitter person is harmful for himself and the world in general. Eye for an eye is never a solution. Be big hearted – forgive and let go. If you put salt in the ocean you will never realize the salty taste, but if you add one spoon of salt into a small glass of water – can you drink it – NO!!. So you get my point a small glass means a small hearted person who gets bitter by bad experiences, words, blames others and gradually becomes a problem for everyone. A big hearted person doesnot let the bad experiences effect his behaviour, so no bitteness only sweetness like the sugarcane, you can crush it but you will get the most sweetest juice!!
I will leave you with these good thoughts – to be back with another story and peom. Till then be happy and stay healthy!!
Keep smiling always….Molly 🙂
